Eat the Eldritch

An interactive cruise to the end of the world

You are Jun Do, captain on the fish processing ship Tataki. Your crew is not only new to you, they are also quite strange. And your destination is Point Nemo, the furthest place on earth from any cost...

Help for interactive fiction novices

When you try to play Interactive Fiction (IF for short) for the first time, it can be frustrating if you don't know how it works. The key is: you write what you want your character to do in the game. Yes, your character can do a lot of different things (and that's one of the great traits of IF). Here is a very good and concise overview of the most important actions your character can do. And here are two short introductions: How to Play a Text Adventure Part 1 and Part 2.

Additional content

The game took 18th place at IFComp 2023 and made it onto Mathbrush's "Timeline of Lovecraftian Horror".

David Welbourne was so very kind to make a map and a very detailed walkthrough of the game (thanks a lot!).

A German (and earlier) version of this game was released at the 12th IF Grand Prix in April 2023 with the title "Fischstäbchen".
